I just got my first antelope back from the taxidermist. I think he turned out great and I'm super happy. I harvested this guy last season in NE New Mexico on a really fun hunt with some buddies.
I stalked this guy for over an hour closing the distance from a mile down to 300 + yards. I ended up shooting a different goat than I was chasing because he slipped out on me and I got confused (several antelope in the area). My buddy shot the bigger one I was originally chasing but I was super happy the way this one went down.
(I attached the picture of the bigger pronghorn my buddy killed).
A great solo stalk, single shot first antelope. He did a 360 raring back on his hind legs and dropped dead. I was extremely happy even though he wasn't the biggest one we saw.
We managed to take 5 antelope on one long day of hunting and skinning! I'm working out the details to head back for round 2 this fall.
