Pretty Deer Killer

Title and pix made me chuckle.

I kill my share of coyotes ea/yr but you do know that adult coytoteS rarely kill adult deer? Coyotes and fawns, of course. And of course you know this.

Are you liking the new home?

Fair Chase yup I know they rarely kill adult deer, but they are sure tough on our fawns around here. I've found several dens that have fawn heads and skulls scattered all around the mouth of the den. They get their fair share of antelope as well. Calving season has started around here as well and they are moving in on the cows. It's kind'a weird with cows. Some ranchers have never had a single calf killed by a coyote and others have lots of trouble with them. However, even if they don't kill a calf their presence around mother cows really stresses them out. I'm always a little amazed at just how brazen and bold coyotes can get around calving time. Some throw caution to the wind completely.
