House Bill 290 will be heard by the House Transportation Committee on Wed. Feb 2 at 3:00 PM.
This bill is the top bill by Public Land And Water Access and Montana Wildlife Federation. We need all the support we can get in the form of phone calls and e-mail to committee members (You can leave a phone message SUPPORTING HB 290 for the entire House Transportation Committee with one call to 406.444.4800.)
And of course we would appreciate your attendence at the hearing. I will be there.
This bill reqires those who would close a road to notify the County Commissioners of their intent before they erect any signs or barriers. Then to appear before the Commissioners with evidence that the road is a private road ...not a public road.
