I was archery deer hunting this weekend and was staying in my tent trailer. it has a 36 gallon water tank and i woke up this morning and it was frozen. I was curious to find out if anyone had any suggestions on how to avoid this problem if any. My main concern is the plumbing expanding and breaking open.

You should winterize your RV's then don't fill them up till after the last frost. Even if you can keep it warm while camping it could freeze in the 2 or more hour drive home and cause you grief.

Heating blanket and or heating could be used if you have a source for eletricity. But like Oscar said you could also freeze up on way home. We camp and sometimes it got below frezzing. We just used 5 gallon jugs and kept what we would use inside camper while we kept the heat on there.

I had a heating element in mine. Ran off the batteries and never froze. Dont know where the previous owner got it but I am sure an rv store would be able to help you.
