Planning for 2013

Hey guys starting to plan for next season and looking at doing a MT elk hunt...was wondering if any of you have hunted in the Beartooth wilderness.
I know it is some rugged country but wondering if the early elk and deer season is at all productive. I am game for packing in a long ways so thats not a concern.
Any input would be nice...Thanks guys.

It borders the Park and locals tell me elk numbers are down pretty far the last 10 years based on wolves. MT DNR has reports for the area and discussion on that. My brother and I saw a whopper deer this summer in our one day of scouting. We will be there fall 2013 with a sheep and deer tag. This summer we will be back to scout again.
