I was driving north to go hiking and in a field were dozens of Turkey. One was ash grey with some white and another was 75 percent white and the rest grey. I'm not a turkey hunt, mostly because I think they're everywhere here in north idaho and I takes a lot of the romance away. Anyone else ever seen anything like this? I'm pretty sure both were hens also.

Not sure how they happen, but pretty common out in these parts. We had one hanging around the house one year and called the DNR about it. They told us it was no big deal.

It's called a "smoke-phase" turkey. It can be a naturally occurring trait, I saw my first last year.

What I would give to shoot one of those....
