As the sun rose we found the billy still in his bed. The day, was going to be uncharacteristically warm and sunny so we knew we had to move fast before the goat moved to a shaded location where we couldn't get to him.

Green is our path, the billy did stand up as the sun moved close to his bed and slowly followed the shadows back down the valley.

Great writeup and pics. You also lucked out on the river crossing and it not being 3x deeper. I know a guy that took a jet boat up there and killed one a number of years ago. That hunt is one of the hardest in the state, as you say weather plays a huge role. There has been a number of goat hunters die in that general area over the years. I can think of 3 in the last 6-7 years.
