My older two kids have a genetic kidney disorder. My older daughter (23) got a transplant in Oct and my older son (22) is in kidney failure. He has been on Hemo dialysis for about a year and a half and hasn’t been able to go anywhere. Well, we got him on peritoneal dialysis and we are going bear hunting! He is pretty weak so won’t be able to hike far but I will run a few baits and we will do some calling and most of all we will be out together. Will post back here with progress after we get out there on the 22nd. He is pretty excited and so am I! More to come!!

This is awesome. Good luck to your son on the hunt and my thoughts and prayers are with your whole family during this time! Go get a bear!

What is your son's name? I will send up some prayers for him and y'all. Hope the trip is amazing adventure for y'all.

I cam relate to the kidney problems. PM me if your so needs advice being on PD and hunting. Its a challenge, but its doable. Beats Hemo for sure.

<<3 kidney transplants, hemo, PD, then hemo transitioned to PD.

Appreciate that. He is kinda fresh on the cycler, did manual for 3 weeks and that was very time consuming. He is struggling a little with drain pain but overall its better for him than hemo for sure.

Flew into Missoula Friday and immediately drove west to get a couple baits out. Went back to Missoula to get a truck bed full of dialysis supplies, some groceries and finally some dinner then crashed. We have had to stay relatively close to the truck and try to glass. He is weaker than I realized at home because there is no real reason for him to climb a mountain back in KY. Nothing hitting baits yet but I’m confident we will turn something up. In CDA for a week to be close to a hospital but also close enough to get out in the afternoon/evenings. We are having a great time, really enjoying this time with him.
