Very true. I’m doing the 50+ workouts on MTNTough so trying to find good ways to get various pack weights as I ramp up.I just put some something light at the bottom of my pack. Stick the dumbbell in the center resting on that and wrap it with a coat or fabric to keep it from moving. Keeping the weight distributed higher in the pack is key.
On a side note, you don't need to beat yourself up with ridiculous pack weights and stupid hard workouts. There is a much more enjoyable way to get & stay in shape. Most of the benefits from rucking are just getting your body efficient with movement under load. If your weight is more than you can handle with good form you'll just develop bad movement patterns and get injured.
The vest would probably help with overall fitness.Have any of you used a weight vest? There is a couple in the workout room at the office. Easy to adjust weight and weight is distributed very evenly. But certainly rides different than a pack and doesn’t cinch down well.
