ok this is my first year of bear hunting just got a PA bear tag going for archery season where should i go just looking around i think clinton but advice:confused:

Clinton and Lycoming counties have historically had good harvest numbers. However, all of the northern counties have good populations of bears now. Think food while scouting for bears. Traditionally mast, like acorns will make up the bulk of their fall diet. Apples and corn are very good if you are lucky enough to have them in the area. Heavy cover is a must. There is pretty much no such thing as being to thick for PA bears. Mountain Laurel, swamps, or areas that have been logged, or blown down, and are grown back to briars are all good cover. Find where both food and cover are close together, and you will find bears in almost every county.

Deerfreak, dont count out Potter county on a farm either....have heard some nice archery close calls and successes as well.
