Options for bringing an elk/deer skull home

Just wondering what the options are for bringing an elk or deer skull home. I don't see it in the Colorado regs now, but I seem to remember something about not transporting portions of the animal, such as brain tissue, spine, etc. due to CWD. There are similar regulations in MN. I was wondering what you guys do to get your skull home if you want to do a euro mount?

In Colorado you cant take any Brain tissue or any part of the spine out of the state. There are a few things you can do. 1. Get a euro mount done in Colorado. 2. take the stuff with you to boil the skull and get the brain matter out yourself. Hope this helps and good luck!

Yes. The laws do not differentiate based on specific parts of a state. If the state has CWD in wild populations, importation bans will generally apply for all parts of the state.
