I just wanted to give some recognition to a great event going on in MN put on by Scott County Pheasants Forever. "Operation Upland Pheasant Hunt" is a hunt for US Service Members who have deployed to combat since 9/11. This is the 4th year, and it took place last Saturday at Caribou Gun Club and Hunting Preserve in Le Sueur, MN. They also have developed a program to provide puppies to deserving veterans who are attending the hunt. I was invited to attend the hunt in 2009 as a veteran, and have gone back every year as a volunteer guide. This year the hunt was sponsored by Federal Premium Ammunition, Native Dog Food, Mud River, and a bunch of other great sponsors. The hunt will be featured this year in the PF Magazine.
I like to tell people about this event to give some love to some great volunteers and in hopes some others out there are inspired to do something like this.
