"Only Birds" bird dog breed

Lots of great dogs, but there is only one English-style pointing lab. Total machine in the field, all weather retriever, and complete couch potato with the kids/family (even as a puppy) the 340 days a year you aren't hunting. An amazing, you can have it all, dog choice. Only down sides are it can take a little effort to find the right breeder if you want a natural point, and they (like all labs) can run a bit hot early in the season.

My 5 month old lab puppy woke up my wife yesterday by licking her face. One of us thought it was funny. One didn’t.

I’ve never gotten to see one of these work. They are an intriguing breed.
He hasn’t said a whole lot about them, but I think Craig Koshyk has given the best description of their hunting style. Not sure I remember where I heard him talk about it.

There are quite a few interesting breeds. Some of them, unfortunately, suffer from lack of genetic diversity and or availability.

Munsterlanders are another neat breed. I watched a couple at a NAVHDA test, and a JGV judge I know has a couple.
