At the end of February I was having my 10th brain surgery. Then yesterday we welcomed our little girl into the world!! In summary, never ever quit! Keep fighting because you never know what is in your future. I have our good Lord and Savior to thank! He gave me strength when I needed strength. I also have to thank the HT community! The only thing we can control in this world is our approach towards what we face!

P.S. everyone is happy and healthy!

Glad to have you back on the forum after your brief hiatus! It’s a better place with you here. Best of luck with everything.

Thanks for posting from the sunny side! Looking forward to updates on all topics. Thrilled you made it through the surgery and are welcoming a new daughter. Congratulations all around.

What’s the back story to the brain surgeries
It’s a long story, so I’ll keep it as brief as I can.
- In 2014, during a deployment I developed blackout migraines. Once stateside, surgeries to remove a benign brain tumor
- 2014 a VP shunt had to be placed
- 2018 a cavernous malformation grew and bled in my midbrain.
- 2019 surgery in brainstem to remove cavernous malformation
2020 shunt corroded and wore out my skin had shunt removed and a good part of my bone flap in the back of my skull is gone too, the incision shows where there is no bone!
2023 cavernous malformation grew back and then bled again. Leading to stroke like symptoms on my left side. It took two surgeries to remove what grew back! 50+ nights in the hospital and 17 brain MRIs later, here I am.
