Old Buck?

Saw this buck yesterday and was wondering what you guys think is wrong with him. He has a huge body compared to the other bucks he was with and from a distance I was sure he would be a nice buck. When we got up to him we notice he hardly had any antler. In fact it look like they were just velvet nubs. I've never seen this before and all I can figure out is maybe its a really old buck? He was limping really bad but wasn't too skinny. What do you guys think?

He could have been a real early fawn or was injured somehow and has his timing off. He might have already dropped this years antlers and is starting to grow next years?

Could be a cactus buck? No doubt a very big and old deer.
