Winter snow on the ground from Oct to May, so with retrievers off-season training on soft snow.
If its early and there is no snow, field scale setups:
Blind retrieves: Lining Cold Blinds
Marking: Checkdown Quad
For the youngsters:
Whistle sits on daily dog walks.
No-no barrier drill to teach pup to line over obstacles and to condition recalls for incorrect decisions
Ladder drills to teach pup to line and keep on going to a new, unknown destination
Literal casting in the yard
Walking baseball to work on field-scale casting
Casting from Diversion to work on casting to an unknown destination
For older retrievers:
Multiple marking to work on handler and retriever marking mechanics
2-tier wagon wheel lining drill
Also skijoring to keep the labs in shape.
