He may very well be a fine man (I have no way of knowing, I have never met him), but this just seems like an odd choice that will do nothing to bring folks together or help build support with the undecided middle. I am not a big fan of just preaching to the choir when it comes to politics, but seems like that's what they are doing.

The politicians have an agenda and so does the NRA. They'll tell you what you want to hear. I'm a life member and sometimes I shake my head. That being said I believe the NRA is our strongest voice. Mr North may or may not be that person to get things done but he does understand political thinking. I would really like to see Charlton Heston come back to life and take over. Since that isn't going to happen we'll have to move foward with the next appointee.

I don't think so. From what I have seen
He seems pretty measured in his approach and comments. I think you'll see a lot less shrill-ness out of him.
If he is truly calling the shots I bet you see a lot less hyperbole.
Would like to see him get bomb throwers like the 'Nuge' off the board and try to maintain some aspect
civility and respectability.
only time will tell... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFZ3Qhn5dW8 eh.

Whom would you have chosen?

Whom would you have chosen?

I don't have a name in mind, but somebody without political baggage. Somebody who is firm, but resists grandstanding and hyperbole. Somebody with PR or lobbying experience. Maybe a conservative former member of congress (could have a lot of new ones this fall). Preferentially a women.

Ollie will re$onate with the core like a spring reverb....it's not that complicated.

..and money is what you need to counter the 'free' press liberal bullhorn.

Strange how the modern right has become a caricature of comedic prophesies of only a decade ago.

For those HuntTalkers born after the 1980's

Yup and he can bring it in, I think. He has enough star power. He can sure take the heat. Curious that at this point he is willing to be the front target.
You get someone too bland or without enough brass and the money folks will look elsewhere.
They could have mad e worse choice.

So, how does that stack up with something like, oh , say, Benghazi?

Like this:

For a few years, Congress investigated the Benghazi incident and found no, zero, nada in terms of wrongdoing or failed leadership despite their best effort.

With Iran Contra - it was pretty easily proven that the Reagan administration actively subverted the law to sell weapons to Iran in order to help fund the Contras. Technically, this could have been treason if people would have pushed it. With Iran-Contra, you had an administration ignoring the rule of law and acting in a manner that was legitimately illegal.

With Benghazi, you had fox news yelling at you everyday about how evil Hillary was.

Now, if you want to compare apples to apples, let's compare the Benghazi incident with the Niger incident, where it's clearly established that Trump f#cked up the protocols, green light a hastily planned mission and cost three Americans their lives. Yet we're not investigating that because of who is in charge of congress.

Benghazi became a crapstorm because the Clintons to this day struggle to grasp when a lie can pass as plausible. The email to her daughter did not mesh with the public proclamation the film was the trigger point to the attack. Did not take much effort to understand the difference in how spontaneous riots arise versus planned attacks. If was not for things like "I dodged snipers" and "I. Did. Not. Have. Sex. With. That. woooooooman." would have been less focus on what was known vs. what was spun.

The effect of all the lies and enabling to protect "our candidate" even when doing bad things since is in our corner on key issues has now helped lower the bar more and more so we have no need to have plausible denial when a lie is stated by the President. Now, the only outrage that lasts more than a week or two is if the lie was related to felonies or otherwise impeachable actions.

We are a great country. National leadership through Congress and the Executive branch is not inspiring no matter the symbol on the ballot next to the name.

Ha ha, Lamb, that was the best white wash you have delivered yet. I just knew I could count on you to get to the bottom of this. So here it is Fox news' fault and all this time I thought it was Bush's fault :hump:
