Nosler Accubond 140 grain vs. 160 grain-Elk

Shoot whatever flies better. I'm shooting 160 Accubonds out of my 7mm. They shoot great and I have killed a stack of animals with them. I wouldn't have any qualms about shooting 140 grainers if they flew any better.

If you are able, make sure you chronograph your loads if you're using any sort of BDC or planning on longer shots. I had a box of 140gr Trophy Grade Accubonds fail to break 3000fps, even though they were listed at 3200. Nosler was kind enough to send me another box, but it shows the importance of really knowing what the velocity is, and not taking the factory box numbers as gospel.
You are correct. That is pretty moderate for a 140, but still would be fine, as long as your rifle is sighted in accordingly. I have always used the 160-grain and up bullets, for elk. I like them fine, but I don't doubt that the 140 will smoke them just as well. The hardest part is finding one to shoot at!
