NOAA Snow Levels in Google Earth

My father in law sent me a cool little tip today involving NOAA mapping and integration with google earth. NOAA shows snow depths around the country and you can easily overlay that information into google earth.

Click on the link below, then under the left picture, below the list of dates you’ll see “Latest Snow Analyses Overlays.” Click on that and it will open Google Earth. On Google Earth, in the sidebar where all your saved locations are, is a box labelled Temporary Places. Under that, you should see a box labelled, Latest NOHRSC Snow Model Snapshot. Check the box and an overlay will appear, showing you the latest snow depths. When you close Google Earth it will ask if you want to save the temporary files. Tell it to discard because you will need to go through this process every time to get the latest info.
