I jumped on the suppressor bandwagon because I found out that I actually like to shoot more centerfire (plinking and busting rocks at a half mile and beyond) than I used to. I do shoot in my house/garage, especially when doing things like breaking in a barrel or chronographing a test load. I never, ever (I hate them all) go to any “range”, I’m already deaf from years of shooting, but hate messing with earplugs (lazy and careless). I like being able to pass a rifle to my wife or daughter and knowing they can hammer away without any bother of recoil or flinch. I like shooting and spotting my bullet impacts. I like being able to shoot at an animal, watch it drop, and the other animals around just continue to stand around.

On and on..

Only question is should I try tenet or airlock next?

I love my Airlock but I don’t have a ton of experience with others.

I don’t currently own a suppressor, but I use one for work and I want one or two of my own. I don’t really see myself carrying one elk hunting, but I’ve been wrong before. I would love a suppressed Ruger 22/45, if we ever get completely deregulated in Montana that would be my first purchase.

It’s like you have a picture of the inside of my safe.

A red dot has helped A LOT with the bifocals and actually seeing the target and the sights. I don’t know if I can go back.

What herds are you shooting multiple animals from?

I really could not care less about suppressed pistol cartridges. I could not think of anything more worthless.

I do agree with you on 147 grain 9mm. 147 grain hardcast at 1049 fps rip through about anything. Only thing better is 255 grain hardcast at 1300 fps out of my 1911.

Year before last myself and another guy shot 2 cows, about 30 seconds and 200m apart, from the same herd/group of about 50 elk in Wyoming. The herd I shot the cow from last week, had there been another hunter there, stood around for plenty of time after the shot for another. Late season whitetail it is VERY common to get lots of deer in crop fields where multiple shooters or singles with multiple doe tags can take multiple deer. Just a few examples.

If you think suppressed pistol cartridges in an enclosed, close quarters environment are worthless you haven't done much training or get the application.

Why would i want to shoot a pistol indoors?

How many decibels is your rifle with the supressor you use? Osha recomendation for hearing protection is anything over 85 decibels. I have yet to find a supressor on the market that can come anywhere close to 100 decibels with either caliber i hunt with.

I believe 135. Pretty much deaf anyways from all the years of working heavy construction

There’s definitely no good deer hunting on a general tag for Wyoming residents.

There are plenty of deer, and plenty of places to hunt them. The issue is only getting 2 weeks on general tags in the areas I hunt. im usually elk hunting in a different area, or working. 3 years ago it was 90 degrees the first week of deer season. The second week it was 12 degrees with 40 mph wind and 2 feet of snow. I enjoy deer hunting but being a meat hunter if i can get an elk tag for slightly more, have more of season, and get 200+ lbs of meat, you can bet thats where ill be during the deer season.
