Hi Oscar and Moosie.

I did not fall off of the western tip of North America as a few of you have asked me in e-mails but it seems like it some times. I have not been able to go online for a long time as my computer and web site got the bug and tried to die. Living 600 miles from the closest road we don’t get the pleasure of many things including good computer service. I paid to have a computer geek fix our problems and the web site is in the process of getting a make over to boot! Check it out in the next few days/weeks as it should be finished and looking good! www.northwestalaska.com

Last fall hunting in WACH was great with lots of good looking animals to choose from and plenty of meat in the freezer. My clients were 100% all taking raft loads of animals. What is nice about being in the equipment rental business is that you get to meet and work with some really great people who are eager to have a great experience in Western Alaska. I took another nice moose and 2 great caribou all with in 5 days and I got to do it with one of my best friends who is a cop in Denver. He also took a great bull and has a nice rack is hanging on his wall along with some great hunting stories.

One of the best things about living and hunting up here is all of your friends and always looking to come up for a visit every Fall! I wonder if it is me of the hunting they are after! Ha!

The winter has been very cold with today’s temp right at -23 and that’s our high! We have had almost no snow this year making winter travel very hard. I put up my spring wall tent last week in Noatak National Park and Preserve. It will be about 3 weeks until bears come out and the spring sheep hump hunting is full swing. We are getting almost 15 hours of usable day light right now and the sun is having a harder time finding a place to rest for the night every day.

Well that all from Kotzebue Alaska and unit 23, home to 600,000 friendly caribou and just about 6,000 folks. I like the odds!

It was great hearing from you. Our Fall plans changed and the Float trip has been put on hold. That is a MUST DO and real soon. I love the updates you give. I likethe idea of floating down a river and around every turn there might be a bou, moose or Grizz next to the water. I float rivers duck hunting and alway have a blast. With high duck takes.

I'll be out to your site later this weekend to check it out. Thanx for the posts !

Web site help!!

Hi guys:

I have been working with my Tec guy updating my web site. I need your feed back on the look of my new site. I have added a cleaner more professional look and an expanded product page offering complete camp rentals and kitchen rentals along with my line of Rafts and Canoes. We also linked a movie that one of my clients took last summer and I need to know what you think about it. Does it pull up quickly and is it easy to use?

I am a real novice when it comes to web sites and your feed back on the forum will be greatly appreciated and to show my appreciation I will offer $100 off any week+ inflatable rental and $75 off of any week+ camp rental to any of you who will take the time to give me some positive public feed back! Please don’t make any nasty digs that will not help me develop a better site.

I look forward to reading you r responses and working with any of you who want to come north to the best hunting and fishing adventures in Alaska!

That nice fish is an Arctic Char. We have lots of great fishing up here to add to the best Caribou hunting in the World. Remember that WACH is about 660,000 animals strong and you chances to bag a trophy bull is better in NW Alaska then anywhere in the world so when you come up bring your spinning rod and hook into one of our many exotic fish species! You can expect to catch 3 species of salmon, Arctic Char (we have the state record) around 30-35 inches, Arctic Grayling around 18-25 inches, Sheefish up to 45 pounds! Northern Pike in the 35-40 inch range and Dolly Varden around 25 inches.

Great fishing, great hunting and great equipment! You just can’t do better than that!
