For those in the Missoula area this New Years eve, we have an annual fireworks show at our property. It is usually a few families with kids having a blast lighting heavy hitter 2-500 multishots and the kids involvement (with their parent(s) hand in hand) has them excited versus scared - least that has been our success over the years.
The winter is a great fire retardant, the cold crystalized air acts as millions of tiny reflective shards that the fireworks effect becomes magnified. It becomes as a massive umbrella of lights over us.
We run our wall tent stove(s) outside and a nice heat radiates. The various Missoula breweries usually promote a nice smorgasbord choice of drinks based on who brought what.
Show begins around 730pm. Bring your drinks of choice, keep your enjoyment family oriented (No full monty snow angel stuff... ) and have a good time! We tend to be middle aged farts that have not stayed up to crack 0000 hours for the ball to drop in many years. Stay for the show and off to other events or back home. The last trickle out around 9-10.
Anyhow, if you are interested, PM me for the location/directions. It will be a much smaller gathering as two families are out of state this year. Relaxing and fun.
Where ever, be safe out there! A lot of people push the limits driving under the influence once 2015 is declared. It can be a great and enjoyable event or a terrible life altering moment in a flash of a second...
