New year's eve dinner.

Dave, I was going to put it into the “what’s on the smoker tonight?” Thread. You started the thread, so this is going to be the one I will post to.

Tonight is a monumental night. My wife hated eating ANY game meat and overall refused to enjoy it—Until Xmas weekend.
Aside from the typical main courses, I smoked a hunk of elk backstrap and then reverse seared like many nights before…
She ate a bite and said she could eat the whole damned thing! I couldn’t believe it! We’ve been together 13 years?! So tonight, for the very first time, elk is the main course!! Going for reverse sear soon! 🤞🏽 IMG_5329.jpeg
 
Made elk burger/ antelope Italian sausage meatballs, covered with old west barbaque with a side of fridge pickles.

Paired with cottage cheese and fresh pineapple.

Good for her! It took a while to convince my wife to eat deer meat. And then bear meat. I see you used the FESTIVE HT china!

Had to! Put that baby to the test too!!!

Honestly after 5 years I never thought she’d budge. Either I’m getting better at cooking, or persistence really pays off! Maybe little of both…
