I shot with her next to me a couple days ago and no flinch. No coyote either,but they will get the message.

Fire near the lake jumped a line and up to 800 acres from 30.
Another at Fort Stanton has burned 700 acres and some old barracks burned.
 
1st monsoon rains and 2 weeks early.
Maybe 1/2",guessing. Soaking in quick after puddles form.

Dotti was rain shy this morning, but still barking at shadows. Noises.
Did not like the towel action when she came in.
She has a few new scrapes on her side. Believe she got them when she is after rodents in the corrugated piles. Sprayed down with Vetericyn.
Fetch with bones is a new favorite.

Dotti is a ditto of Rio.

Fire by the lake is 97% contained. 750 acres. Smoke blew out.
Still extreme drought across the state.
Flood watches up in east & north.

Greens sprouting by the roads attracting elk and antelope.
One big buck nearby. 2 does. Fawn season.
Good excuse to fire a round at yotes.
They have not been close since the last shot. But I hear them. Dotti too.

Worn out from yesterdays trip to the vet. Getting her in the truck was something, not fun.
Scrape on hr side got red & sore from licking and I needed it to heal.
Botflies and horseflies out already and looking.
No cone of shame or doughnut,so I made the call.

I barely got her to the truck and then she jumped halfway in herself.
Her 1st road encounter with cattle. Barks & growls.
1st a trip to the dump and the PO for my pills.

Anyway we made it to DR and she'll be fine.

Garcia camp closed. Fire crews.

I went and got my bloodwork done early for next weeks Dr video chat.
Numbers unchanged.
They added a piss test so I have to go back Mon........AHGGGG!!!

Dotti was just sounding a very low flying jet,big one.
Her side is healing well.

The Buck Fire east of Aragon jumped to 23,000 acres yesterday. Pelona Mtn. getting hit on the south side.
The Trout Fire is around 2500 acres burning north of Silver City, Trout creek , Lake Roberts area. Most CG's closed.

Going to be a hot weekend here. Low 90's it is the cool spot in the south of the state.
Cooling some after Mon. No rain hitting the ground here.
Winds have died here and maybe a pit/grill fire this afternoon. After I soak the ground.
Grasses pushing. Leaves sprouting out of the brush.

Bluebirds and flycatchers on the porch posts.
Stars & Stripes hanging in the cool air.
Dotti probing the window views. Barking at the neighbors dog. It was the elk leaving earlier.

Drove thru a frog strangler Thursday between Embudo and Taos. Drops big as saucers. Temps plunged 20 degrees. Taos and Red River jam packed and perennial road construction in towns and east of Espanola.

Buck fire over 57,000 ac now. 15% contained. Trout fire around 28,000, lots of evacuations going into place. 25% contained.

Picking up the Ford after servicing AC and clearing out the chipmunk,rat nest on intake.

I was watching a Sioux Falls weather report today and the meteorologist was talking big picture and really highlighted NM getting a bunch of moisture late next week because of the hurricane. His graphs looked promising for you guys.
Fingers crossed for (I’m sure always) needed moisture.

Trout fire jumped lines and is 40,000 acres and 0% containment this morning.
Buck fire around 60,000 10% containment now.

Monsoon has hit the east side of state. Flooding already.
Stayed east of the Divide yesterday.
90-100 temps gone,for now.

Buck fire 57,000+ and 88% contained.
Trout fire 47,000+ and 22% contained.
Hopefully rain today will douse them.

Yotes made another try this morning. We repelled them.

50, heading for low 80's for a couple days.
10% chance today. More next week.

Lightning strike fire on BLM west of me on Baca ranch. They got on it.

I got 1/4 inch this week. Socorro got 4.5" on Tues.
Not much west of the divide but it has doused down the Trout and Buck fires.

Have two months supply of meds and Dotti is all healed up.

Dotti spotted the bobcat momma this morning and held her ground.
She's feeding the babies with bunnies around me. Must have a den in the mesa rocks. Neighbor sees her walking back past his windows. His cats just watch from the window then go try.

Electrician neighbor coming to fill a water tank this morning and pick up the solar controller I no longer need. Well must be low.
Keep the good ones happy.

Dotti is so spoiled, she loves elk meat. Bones. Hide...LOL

53 and SE breeze. 50% chance today.
1st T-heads over the White Mtns. yesterday. Tried here but just spit at the ranch.

Extreme fire danger still. Bone dry on the range.
Lot's of smoke from several fires. One 6300 acres on the Navajo Rez over the border.

News yesterday showed some A-holes vandalizing ranchers water improvements, gates & fencing in the county. FS/BLM leases.

The good news was an E-mail from G&F. I have a bull tag, so another try for Big Hank...LOL
Monsoon rains til 4th break and again next week. Pattern is in place and lot's of moisture and flow from Gulf & Pacific.
Got a decent haircut & cut the beard down.
No 100 degree weather for a few days is the best. Humidity ruined a good pie.

No problemo.
