New OYO style show

Saw this one last week on Sportsman Channel. Actually looked pretty good. He starts out by laying out the qualifications for getting on the show (no guided hunts, etc.) going to watch a few more to see if it continues to be a good show.

Of course, not as highly esteemed as Fin's show!

I remember a show a few years back that was all about low budget do it yourself hunts. I though it was pretty good but it didnt take off. I only saw a few of the episodes (pre DVR). I wished we had more shows like OYOA. Gets kids to realize there is more to hunting and that there is not a "booner" behind every tree. I have watched a lot of hunting shows and there is only a handful of shows I really like. OYOA is at the top of the list not because I like Randy, heck, never met the guy. But more that his style of hunting is more of my style. People like to be around people like them and he seems to be good folk. He could add more shows with old timers or young'ns anytime. Love those kind of shows!

I can't wait to see the muley episode. I wonder if they will get on camera any of these muleys coming in dangerously? I guess I've never eperienced that and I have only really hunted the dangerous muley. You whitetail hunters have it easy hunting those "tamer" deer.

I wish them luck. After seeing what Fin has gone/going through to get something on TV I say your nuts to try. Seems you need to either have married the right person (connections) or manufacture a product to get any sponsorship.

At least it's not another whitetail show. Good for them.

I didn't realize that I was taking my life in my own hands when I was rattling those muleys. I was just having fun. I guess I will have to start to scream like a little girl. Maybe that will help a little bit.

Havent seen the show yet. I will have to make it a point to watch the next episode.

His form of hunting involves the often dangerous practice of calling mule deer. Where other, tamer deer will come up slowly and look at you, a mule deer will run full speed at a hunter.

“I’ve had a few people scream like girls and fall down a hill,”McIntosh said with a chuckle.

Now I'm SKEERED to go hunting alone !!!!

You have got to love "reality" TV. All TV has hollywood in it to make things appealing to the audience. Just think of how boring it would be to watch an episode of Big Fin sitting in a hot blind in New Mexico waiting all day long, day in and day out. Every time I flip on my TV it has the same old blind waiting for something to come get a drink. So TV has to soup things up a bit. That is how I believe we get fed things like Dangerous mulies! or I'm hunting today with my "good friend" so and so. He is my "not guide." And "I could have only got this buck using my XYZ rifle and wearing hanes underwear and paying bla bla outfitters big money." In any case I love being entertained. But if mulies are really that dangerous I hope my life insurance company doesn't find out I like to hunt them.

Don't tell Bryce that watching Fin in a blind in NM all day is boring... He's been doing it for years ;)

I hope Bryce has a psychologist and isn't allowed to posses anything he could use to harm himself with when watching Fin in a stinking hot blind all day long. Maybe the reality of it all is that Bryce gets psychotic and threatens Fin that if he doesn't get something quickly they will never find the body.

When Fin gets all packed up to do those NM antelope blind hunts I think of Brad Pitt in Legends of the Fall when he heads off to Africa and around the world to find himself. I think Fin sits in those hot blinds to find himself once a year:D

So........ I've been wondering. They use eucalyptus steam in those blinds to help exfoliate, right ?

I never seen a Muley that made me skeered but have had a few snakes left by my vehicle door that scared the S#*T of of me

They have teaser clip on the website. Hard to tell if the editing is making things look different than they really are. The call seems like a typical fawn in distress call.

I watched it. It is just a fawn in distress call. I have used this many times. The show sounded like it is something new. The fawn distress by E.L.K. has probably been out for 20 or so years.

The show was just okay.
