Drew NM 49 elk this year....any general info on where to get away from motor vehicles? Trailheads to get 6-10 miles into the backcountry? Just looking for starting point and will lean on google earth, etc. thanks

Welcome. OnX has a layer that you might find helpful. I’ve also spent many hours highlighting USGS maps to get the info you are looking for and that works well.

How did Your hunt go JDoon? I got drawn for a Unit 49 Mule deer hunt in September for Archery. Any advice would be appreciated!
