New member from Central California

Hey guys, I'm from the Central valley of California. I mostly upland bird hunt and varmint hunt mainly due to limited opportunity here in California. I've been wanting to expand into bigger game in the coming years. My dad deer hunted out of state when I was a kid but stopped by the time I was old enough to go. My wife and I plan on moving to a more hunter friendly western State like Idaho, Montana or Wyoming in a couple years when she's done with her teaching credentials. In the meantime we are doing what we can to enjoy the shooting, hunting and fishing opportunities we have here.

Welcome to the forum! I'm in central California to, there's plenty of good to really good deer units in California. I feel your pain, I have max points for elk here and a high number for deer. I also haven't been able to hunt deer here for a few years. Good luck

Definitely want to get into hogs, unfortunately most of the areas that are heavy with them are private ranches.
