All I got from my cousin (Bend, OR) is that they think the doe had been hit by a carand the fawn was not in good shape when the family found her. Right now she is being bottle fed and their dog (Hogan) has basically taken over as Mom. The family named the fawn Bella and once she has regained her strength (evidently is requiring 24hr care at this point) they are going to send her to some outfit (wildlife rescue?)that raised two orphan deer and released them to the wild in the past.

...all secondhand knowledge but made for some cute pics nonetheless

That ridgeback is looking pretty docile- I think my chessy would want to use the fawn as a chew toy
