I fount a new old stock TC Venture 30 06 rifle. It was still in the box. I bought 700 30 cal Nosler 165gr bt bullets. That's the bullets I'm planning on using in it. Powders I have on hand.

RL19 22
6.5 staball
H4350
Big Game, Hunter
IMR 4831 IMR 4350
N150 N160 N560
Norma 30 06 brass Federal 210 m primers

Planning on using it in the woods. And around small clear cuts. For deer and hogs.
Which combo has worked good for you? Shots 300 yards and in. I know I listed IMR 4350. Im saving it for my 300 wby. This fall going to do load development. With my 300 wby and IMR 7828ssc. If that works out. I will use the IMR 4350 in my 30 06. I won't use 30 06 alot. It's not replacing my 280AI rifle. Thanks for any help.

H4350 and IMR4350 are both excellent in the 30-06. 165 gr. Partitions and Accubonds shoot great using IMR4350 in my particular rifle. I have not tried to work up a load with H4350 yet but I should as it's a great one too. 56-58 grs. seems to be a sweet spot with that weight bullet. My particular rifle uses 57.4 grs of IMR4350 for 2940 fps in my Ruger 1B with the 26" barrel. Best of luck on working up a load. You have some really good powders listed.

165 bullet and 4350 in a 30-06 are like peanut butter and jelly. I can’t remember who said it (maybe Townsend Wheeler) but “if your 30-06 doesn’t shoot 165s and 4350 well then there is something wrong with your gun.”

Going by memory I use 57-57.5gr of I4350 with a 165 NBT and NAB. I THINK that the “H” variety will get you there at about a grain less

Nice find on the NOS Venture. For a 165gr Ballistic Tip in a .30-06, I’d probably start with H4350 or RL19 since both have a long track record of working well with that bullet weight. N160 would also be worth trying if you already have it on hand.Since you’re keeping shots inside 300 yards for deer and hogs, I’d focus more on accuracy and consistency than chasing maximum velocity. The .30-06 with a good 165gr load is hard to beat for that kind of hunting.
I’d be interested to hear which powder your rifle ends up liking best once you start load development this fall.
