What did your barrel finish out, length wise? Close to you 26" goal?

Another thought for brass is Peterson. Getting pretty good reviews from the match shooting crowd.

Got the bedding done, had to do a fair amount to get the bottom metal to fit up nice.


Fresh coat of paint, I textured it then color over the top followed by matte clear. I'm not sure if I like it yet but its growing on me.


Waiting "patiently" for the gunkote to show up so I can go shoot!
It'll probably get a lower set of rings, this scope is a placeholder till i get the funds for the new one.


The tang took a bit of fitting also.

Why do you need a FFl to assemble a rifle? I will have all the parts once my barrel shows up.

Because the ATF says I need an ffl to do any work on firearms that aren't mine. Unless the owner is present, even then it's muddy.

Gunsmiths are required to hold at least a type 1 ffl. Manufacturing is a type 7. I don't know where assembly falls into that, I would assume the type 1. @BcGunworks probably knows more about that.

I got the metal coated and everything mounted up and torqued. Started break in today till my hands got too cold. The barrel has been cleaning up in around 5 patches so that's nice. Factory core-lokt 140gr was holding 1 1/4" for the 10 rds I put downrange.

I used KG Gunkote, colors are Texas Tea and Flat Black.

This is just a range toy with the occasional competition. Box mag is just for a quick reload.
I dont like them on a hunting rifle.

I've only got 10 rds through it so far and that was with some factory Remington ammo. Overall length after firing is 2.0165" and the neck is coming out right at .264"

I picked up some Starline to test, new cases measure 2.025" and the necks are .255" I expect them to be .26" to .265" after firing judging by where the shoulder hits in the chamber. I will hopefully be testing those next weekend.

Nosler was a lot more inconsistent after FF and out of 100 I ended up with 67 that made 2.010 or more. Some were as short as 1.990.

If your interested I spoke with ADG and they will make a special run of 260 with custom neck length. If it was ordered maxed out to the 2.045 chamber reamer the final product after FF should have good necks.

For them to run it it was 500 pieces and that was more than I would of ever needed. If you wanted to split it I would be game.

I would have to call them again but it was the standard price of the 260 brass, just in bulk and not I the orange plastic boxes. I could do it whenever, it would mainly depend on their production run schedule. They only run 260 a couple times a year.
