I use mostly leupold the warranty is great if you need it. If money is tight pick up a used leupold if it breaks they will fix it. I have a pentax on my 257 that so far has been working well. Been thinking of trying out a new redfield now that leupold is making them.

What kind of mounts do you recommend? I am planning on picking up a Tikka T3 30-06 sometime in the next couple of weeks based on recommendations from here and plan on putting a leupold vx3 cds 3.5x10 on it. thx

although i have both a leopold , I bought a nikon monarch 4-16 and am very pleased with clarity and low lite performance about $525 from cabelas.
