Ok, I'm calling you out on this one. I did suggest it was a blank cartridge.

This may be tough since I'm not even sure what it is. Found it sheep scouting today. Case length is ~1.85", bullet diameter a tag less than .50 cal.

I thought I had found two of these casings, but upon looking at them closer this morning they two different cartridges. Here is another Pic with them side by side, pretty sure the bigger of the two is a .45-70.
