Purchased my Iowa early muzzy tag with an additional antlerless tag for Butler county. That's 4 big game tags for the year. Colorado muzzy elk, wyoming doe whitetail deer, and the 2 deer tags for Iowa. Going to be a great fall.

Thats is a very nice walleye. From the looks of it, he caught it in the Mississippi River.
On what bait or lure, I would like to know.

28.5 long, yes Mississippi, on 1/16 ounce chartreuse green jig tipped with night crawler drifting.

Got home Saturday morning from elk camp. Heard my first bugle, buddies saw elk, according to sign we were close to elk the entire trip. Will do a recap oh the hunt throughout the the week.

Made it to Colorado the evening of sept 11 for elk camp and just pitched a quick camp on the side of the road.
Friday morning we moved and set up a better camp and did some scouting.
One buddy glasses up a 5x5 so we found our starting spot for the opener.

Very the next few days we got rained on a couple times but that was nice so we could read fresh sign. We know the elk had been moving back and forth between two adjacent drainage. Clint and Levi did good on finding sheds.

I believe it was hunt day three i was back in the bushes taking care of business getting rid of a breakfast burrito when a bull let out a bugle. Holy crap that got my attention, sounds close. Got back to a glassing spot but never saw the bull. That afternoon I was on one ridge and my buddies on another. They got a glimpse of a bigger bull chasing three cows. Out of range for a shot the elk just disappeared into the brush. We glassed those two drainage all week but never saw any elk again. We had an absolute blast and am ready to go back as soon as we can get a tag.

Took the kids to casper wyoming with whitetail doe tags. We saw antelope and mule deer in abundance but absolutely no whitetail. We had a ton of fun but will not do that hunt again.

Just put scope on the muzzy and got that dialed in. Also organized gear and checked deer stands today. Out of vacation time so will be hunting at home next week.

The weather looks like it’s you going to get real nice. I tried to go Bowhunting on Friday but the bugs ran me out of the woods. I’ve never seen them that bad in October.
