I paid a taxidermist to take care of my velvet buck for me as I don't have the patience or knowledge to deal with velvet. They did a nice job on the skull, unfortunately the buck ended up on top of his head with all 4 feet in the air when he died so the velvet is a little banged up.
I made the plaque out of some reclaimed red cedar, finished with boiled linseed oil.

Good job. I did one like that with an antelope buck that my kid shot several years back. The picture kind of tells the story.
