You only counted 7 lines? The last section is only 4-5 months of growth, not a full year assuming it was shot in the fall, so it doesn't count as a year does it? If this was a sheep in AK, it would be aged at 7yo = 7 rings.

1.5 for the tip section and a year for every other section.
