I missed the last part of the commission meeting. I had heard there was going to be a statewide change but can't find anything. Anyone know?

The last minute proposed changes that came out after the Jan.21 public comment period are going to be put out for an additional public comment period.
Tabor got some intense pushback from the Region1 guys (myself included) who like the permit system. He got enthusiastic support from outfitters. He also received support from the MT Hound Hunters Ass.
I heard the MT Hound Hunters Ass.support for option 3 was a quid pro for him supporting the hound bear season. If it was that was a pretty genius move on Tabor’s part since the season is law and not a commission regulation.
All comments revolved around the third option. Unlimited permits for res and NR with a quota system and 10% of regional quotas set aside for special permits that can be used after the quota is full.
