first time out planning out of state hunt. I was looking at doing it on the cheaper side i was looking at B tags in Montana. Im just curious do you have to draw general first thanks

No you don’t. B tags have a separate draw with their own bonus point structure. Deadline is later than the Deer and Elk combination license application deadline, as well.

There are still some whitetail tags available for this year as OTC even.

Those are sold over-the-counter. No points required. I should’ve mentioned the OTC tags in my original response. There are other B tags, for elk, deer and antelope, that are limited in number and require that you submit an application. The app deadline for those limited B tags is typically June 1.
