People getting mauled inside their tents is incredibly rare. The only encounter I can remember hearing about was the one outside of Cooke City a few years back.

Of course, people getting mauled at all is incredibly rare. When you consider the number of day users vs. tent campers, the numbers are probably not too far off.

Probably because relocated Bears don’t stay put very long. Giving too discreet a location gives people a false sense of where those bears actually are.

I've heard the sugarloaf mountain area south of Big Twig used to be a dump zone for problem Griz. Not sure if this is factual or not, but I know they are in there.
