He wont be dialing with it. Probably a350 yards and in. The 0 MOA rails are hard to find. Browning only has the 20 MOA. I will keep looking

HD Browning X-Bolt Long Action Picatinny Rail 0 MOA
Elevate your Browning X-Bolt Long Action with the durable HD Browning X-Bolt Picatinny Rail. Perfect for hunters; compatible with Picatinny and Weaver scope rings.egwguns.com
i think i would go medium, to ensure bolt clearance. I used to go super low and actually find it’s more comfortable to shoot with medium rings.I will get a 0 MOA rail and cant decide between low or medium rings
This is the scope. Sorry I couldn’t remember what model it was off the top of my headThe decision to get a 0MOA, or a 20MOA base isn't decided by if you want to dial your elevations or not.
It's a distance thing.
0-500 yards, 0MOA base.
600-1,000 yards, 20MOA base.
That being said, once you start going past 600 yards, you will probably need to be doing some dialing for elevation.
Big plus for a one piece base is that you can move the scope where you need it.
@sigpros,
"Vortex 4-12X44".
What model?
What reticle?
If it's a plain duplex reticle, I'd just get the 0MOA.
I use Evolution Gun Works (EGW) one piece base on everything that will take them.
EGW bases are kinda tall. I use their low Keystone line of rings for everything up through my Sightron SIII 10-50X60. So clearance isn't an issue.
Another plus with EGW, buy a base and rings at the same time and take 10% off the bill.
Ok, the Viper is a 30mm tube, so elevation adjustment shouldn't be an issue. This is the scope. Sorry I couldn’t remember what model it was off the top of my head
Welcome to HT.I was deciding between the X-Bolt Hunter and the Hell’s Canyon, ended up ordering a browning x bolt hunter through Jack’s Gun Shop. Process was easy, and they had a good selection in stock.
