Mountain House meals?

I like them. IMO, they taste good enough. Some are better than others, but I can gut just about any of them down. The crushed pepper flakes packets from some of the pizza places are good additions for flavor. Also, the "log jam" Tbone mentioned is not to be taken lightly. For me it's sometime on Day 3 when the dam breaks...

I like some of them also, and some I just can't stand. If weight isn't the issue I use mre's with the heater pouch. all it takes is about 10 min and you have a full meal that fills you up. "me anyway".

I like a brand that I've been using, They taste great, have a variety, a lot of different options as to buy the heaters, packages or entire meals. I may add a lot of calories per meal too. www.sopackco.com

I'm like bambi also, You can make your own meals with what you want and use the vac sealer.

I eat a lot every fall and feel the same as most other guys. They are pretty good after a long day of hunting, but they wouldn't be my first choice if I have other options.

Definitely try out some different flavors because I have some I enjoy and some that I have to choke down. Usually end up eating my favorites first and have to sort through the bottom of the barrel towards the end of the hunt. The log jam warning should be posted on the package if you ask me.

Apparently my taste buds must not be as picky as others'. I love them! I use them on my trips to Colorado each year with my dad or uncle. Usually we will make two of the two person meals per day. We make two different kinds and split them for supper. We don't usually eat anything else during the day, and it can be a struggle to finish both packages sometimes, so I definitely get filled up with them. I would recommend them.
I have also tried Backpacker's Pantry. I wasn't as impressed with most of their stuff, but the chicken alfredo was really good.
There are probably cheaper solutions, but I like that I don't have to worry about bags accidentally opening up and food spilling everywhere! The slightly smaller vacuum sealed packages might be a good option if you are concerned about space. They are still pretty big.

Or the cheese from the lasagna with meat sauce. And if you do eat them make sure you are the first one in line on the trail. If you aren't your buddy ate them, prepare to be cropdusted....

I love the lasagna with meat sauce one but stopped eating it for this exact reason. I guess it would be good to eat during bear season.
