Most overrated band of all time

There is some fantastic country that has been put out in the last 10+years.

It’s an overrated opinion that any country post “x” date is automatically overrated.

I think a big part of the allure of the Grateful Dead is being part of the “club.” Similar with KISS, Phish, Insane Clown Posse Juggalos, Taylor’s ‘Swifties’ etc.

Some people enjoy being part of that fan group and I suspect a sense of community comes with it- more power to them, if people enjoy it then who am I to judge.

Sure….but those other bands can sing in tune.

I enjoy a good jam band as much as any other kind of music, I just don’t really get the cult following of this particular band. I may be biased, as Eugene seems particularly obsessed.

There are two veins of country as I see it. There’s the pop stuff where everyone sounds the same, and has nearly the same name. Then there’s the Chris Stapleton, and Stephen Wilson Jr. style stuff. They’re amazing.

It’s been that way forever too. There isn’t much shortage of good country available right now IMO.

That said, I do find Chris Stapleton a bit overrated

I'll change my vote to Springsteen, didnt mention him because the OP said bands. Yeah, I get the e street stuff. Still crap.

Had a date in college. Springsteen came up on the radio. She went on and on about how much she loved the "boss". I finally said "the boss of what, suck ass music?". Anyway, didnt get or want a second date. Some things just can't be compromised.
