Moose Shed

Found my first shed of the year, which also happens to be the biggest I've ever found. 22" wide, 27" palm length, 8-9" palm width. Just out of curiosity when you score a moose, if the palm is folded back like this one, how do you measure it? For example, if the width is 8" the fold goes straight back at 90 degrees for say 4", is the width 8" or 12"?

The more I read about the scoring process the more it seems I'm measuring wrong. I rough scored it at 65 with 39" paddles (wasn't measuring the brow palm before), probably off some.

Keep the tape in contact with the back of the antler, whatever weird stuff is going on on the backside of that will factor into the score.
