Thank You. Took 30 years for him to draw. He put in some effort scounting this summer. I thought it paid off. I was just there for extra eyes and to get him off the mountain, but still one of the funnest hunts I have been on.

In 2017 we went to AK for a DIY Moose Hunt, floated 100 miles of river over 2 weeks. Came home with a lot of memories but no Moose. Been trying to get back ever since and give it another try. 2025 was that year. DIY for 3 weeks in the wilds of AK living out of a tent was unbelievably awesome. The Fishing, Bears, Caribou, Moose, Comradarie and general awesomeness of AK is hard to put into words...already planning the next trip to the Last Frontier!

North Dakota M6 unit. Got him September 23 about noon. Watched him bed down in a tree row and snuck down the edge of the beans. Saw him sleeping just inside the opposite side in the shade, slid my croc's off and slipped in barefoot. After 10 min sneaking in an open section of knee high grass I had to kneel down and wait for him to stand. After a few min (which was handy to gather myself and breath normally) he stood and stepped a couple steps away from his bed and hid his vital's behind a downed tree branch. He stands there for 30 seconds and almost 180's giving me a Hard, Hard quatering away shot. I did my best scoliosis bend over backwards still kneeling and let it fly. Great loud crack on impact. Only 1 lung. Took a few minutes to die but I wasn't going to risk closing the gap he made after running out of the tree belt. It was very considerate of him to run towards the dirt road making it easier to convince the landowner and farmer who rents the field to let me drag him to the road with my pickup.
