Montana Spring Bear Melt Data

I have heard that planning a spring bear hunt can be impacted by snowpack levels/trends. Is there a good indicator in that data that suggests when melt off is? I have flexible time off and would like to time it right. Just looking for pointers on what to look for in this years snowpack data or in historical data. This will be my first time taking a swing at this.

Snowtel has real time snow level data, snow will melt st the top of the mountains and in the valleys first and will persist in the timber. You will likely have to park and then posthole through rotten snow to get to the ‘bear zones’.

Snow pack can change dramatically year to year but people kill bears on the first and last day of the season. Mid to late May will give you better road access.

Thanks wllm1313! Just wondering if there is still snow on the ground even though the road access is better. I don't want to be there when the ALL the snow has melted off.
