Montana Spring Bear Hunt (Semi-Live)

Steve, you should have parked your trailer in my backyard. I got home from work on Fri. and while relaxing after dinner I had a nice chocolate boar come out in the backyard. Oh the irony.... eight miles the day before and then that.

Awesome country and great photos!

I had a similar shot opportunity on my hunt this year, 250 yards, but couldn't tell for sure if it had cubs or not until it the opportunity had passed. You made the right decision on holding off your shot; it shows a great deal of patience and restraint on your part.

Enjoyed your write-up about the hunt. Those bears are definitely not easy to hunt. I know where the drainage was where you were chasing the 2 black bears and that is definitely not easy terrain to navigate when time is of the essence. Hope you make it back again next year and are able to put one down. You will have definitely earned it. Beautiful photography as well!

That is ridiculous! Yeah they do what they want.Wouldn't have felt right shooting one in your back yard though! Can't thank you enough for taking us out that one day. Good memories.

Looks like you had a great time. I hoped to make the same trip from ND again this year, but plans did not work out. Maybe next year. How were the mushrooms?
