Montana Saphire Range elk hunt success

Recently pulled a tag for general elk for Montana this season
looking to get feedback from HT members any successful recent elk hunts in Montana Sapphire Range / Eastern Bitteroot National Forest
Any feedback/suggestions would be most helpfull

Try an internet search on that region including elk hunt in the search string. If is a tag that can be drawn each year then people who know where to head to hunt will be hesitant to share information with a stranger (or, even friends) since they or a family member or friend is probably going to hunt there this year, too. You can scout using Google Earth. OnX is helpful for finding boundaries if any concern will encounter restricted land. Call up the F&G biologist for that zone. If you belong to HuntinFool or Epic Outdoors then they will send you contact information of prior tag holders if there are any on file. I find that the harder a tag is to draw the more forthcoming those prior tag holders are when you contact them. The learning curve can be tough when hunting a new area but some detective work and a bit of luck will jump start the adventure.
