Montana Bonus Point Clarification

Any Montana residence know if you still get a bonus point if you draw your second choice elk? I know you do not lose your bonus point if you draw a second choice. I have asked fish and park and have got conflicting information.

So you can’t take away a second choice permit from someone who didn’t apply in a district that’s “first and only choice”

A few units are not the first and only, but have low % of drawing. They definitely are not a primo unit.

The way I understand it is you’ll only draw choice two and three if there are leftovers. Look at draw odds and there usually aren’t leftovers. I’m 1/2 retarded when it comes to this chit. I hunt otc so I’m probably wrong.

It’s a bullshit rule due to the inconsistency it’s created in the regulations. If it wasn’t there it would change my application strategy. One of those tags that goes out to third choice i would love to have instead of a general
