MKC vs Eastmans?

Not sure if it's any kind of MKC exclusive design. A few companies have been making something similar for quite a while. Btw, it's not just the steel, it's also how they harden, the grind, the sheath, etc.

I don't have a MKC yet, so no personal experience of either from me.

I don’t own one either. My wife wanted to buy me one a while back so I got on for their drop. Sold out in a matter of minutes. I gave up on it.

I own two of the mkc. The speedgoat and mini speedgoat. I paid full price for one and about half from someone on here for the other. I thought it would be a great knife for breaking down an animal but wasn’t a huge fan.

As @Gerald Martin said, the parachord gets nasty. I replaced it after a season. Not slick but disgusting, even though most of it washed out with hot water.

I now keep it on the shoulder strap of my pack. Quick access for worst case scenario situations, maybe cutting an apple, and I use it on the knees when processing so I don’t mess up my other knife.

All that to say the the MKC is overpriced in my book but I carry it hunting all the time. Just not my go to for processing. Use the cheapo victorinox flex for that. IMG_8475.jpeg

I do want a Skyblade from the grizzly fighting legend himself though. I’ve handled one and they are beautiful knives.

This. Way before either. Can get a nice magnacut knife with sheath under 180.

I think MKC is alright, do some good things. I think he gets very defensive about the “big manufacturers” and gets protective of the brand a bit too often. But I know the guy worked his tail off to get his business where it is.

I have 3, speedgoat included as a kill kit knife. It’s very sharp but a pain to clean. I put non-lame handles on the other 2 myelf.

I have been using an Argali Serac the last couple of years. I really like it. It is light and it stays sharp. Argali now makes one with orange scales. I am pretty sure I would buy one of those before I would buy a MKC knife.

The owner certainly seems sensitive enough to fit right in with all the influencers he loves to hang out with

Edit to add; the people coming to mkc’s defense on the post are super weird. I doubt the owner is going to give you free knives because you made an IG post trashing another company

I have a couple of MKC’s and they’re fine. They have definitely sold me on magnacut, I’ve never had a knife I could put an edge on like that. The 2 that I still have are both paracord handles, may need to see what NDGuy could do with one!

This part drives me nuts. He hangs out with and promotes some absolute fools.
