My boys ate some fresh out of the fish this morning. I actually processed some last year. Regs are very restrictive around the caviar. It’s ok, glad I tried it once. Just sucks cause you can’t transport it, can’t give it away, etc. Most of it gets thrown away.Do you eat the caviar?
Google says they are famed for the caviar. Lol.
Edit. I've never fished for them. Cool critter.
Way to go!!!!!!!!You didn’t catch them all @Lostinthewoods ! We did pretty good this morning. They really seemed to be stacked up in a few spots. 13 degrees was a little brisk, but it warmed up a bit.

have you eaten any yet? I’m looking forward to you sharing pictures and recipes from the fry.Way to go!!!!!!!!
Looks like smiles all around.
The feeling of setting the hook on one and it just bending the rod is a lot of fun!
I didn’t get it aged, but that is a really cool idea!To say I am jealous is an understatement. I didn't discover paddle fishing (we call them paddlefish up north) until about 6 years ago. It took me 5 years to draw a keep permit.
In my group of 5 we have drawn 5 tags over the last 5 years. We caught a few big ones. I also hate how little meat you get after all the trimming.
Do you ever get them aged? The male I caught last year was 30 years old and the female my wife caught the year before was 28.
Just come clean the crappie out my farm ponds.Lived in the spoonbill capital of the word all my life and I've only snagged once. Didn't enjoy it, nor did i enjoy eating it. The snaggers get in my way getting to my crappie spots.
