This past weekend I hosted a bow shoot with my fiancee to raise money for kids involved in Young LIfe so they can go to summer camp. We hosted a 20 target 3D shoot out at Beck Ranch on the outskirts of Middleton, ID. It was a cold, blustery day with winds of 15-20 MPH and gusts up to 30 MPH which unfortunately made for low attendance, and difficult shooting. Despite the wind and rain from the night before we still had a little more than 25 shooters, ages ranging from 7 years old all the way to a few 50+ guys. We were lucky enough to obtain some prizes for top shooters as well as some raffle prizes, with OYOA being a key sponsor for us with some prize packs to give out. Other sponsors of our event included Rinehart Targets, Delta McKenzie Targets, Elk101.com, First Lite Clothing, Sportsmans Warehouse, local archery shop Dead-On Archery, and Pampered Chef. We were thankful to raise just over $700.00 that will assist in kids going to camp!
We learned a lot this weekend regarding hosting an event like this and are looking forward to hosting an event on an annual basis. Most of all we are thankful to all of those that came out to the shoot and had a good time. A big thanks to BigFin for being our sponsor!
